Mr. Rory is originally from the UK and has been teaching since the early 1990s. As an international educator, he has had the privilege of teaching in many countries across the globe. Each experience for him has been unique, challenging, and rewarding in its own way. He has taught, and managed, most curriculums including IBDP, IBMYP, Advanced Placement (AP), Canadian (Ontario), CAIE Advanced Levels, IGCSE, GCSE, KS3 and Cambridge Checkpoint examinations, and IPC. He graduated from the University of Leeds and the University of Southampton, both of which are in the prestigious Russell Group of Global Universities.
Mr Rory has a love for football and spends his spare time watching the premiership soccer matches. When he has the opportunity, he travels to Southern Europe, especially Bulgaria, to stay in a farmhouse in a rural community. Mr Rory used to own herds of farm animals including cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, donkeys, and horses. He enjoys most foods, including Indian cuisine. He has also appeared as an extra in the longest running children’s BBC Television show `Sooty and Sweep’!
Joining an international school always comes with its share of challenges. International educators must navigate a new culture, language, and local education system. Mr Rory has found that the support of faculty, as well as his own willingness to be flexible and adaptive, to be important in overcoming these challenges and thriving in a new environment. He is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a dynamic and diverse community as KiiTIS. He is passionate about education and is committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for all students. He is a firm believer in ongoing learning and continued professional development to remain current with the latest trends and best practices in education.
Mr Rory`s philosophy is to provide the highest quality education for all students irrespective of class, race, ethnicity, culture, gender or disability. Furthermore, his philosophy is only complete when a solid and positive partnership has been built with families and when the child is at the heart of every school policy and decision.
Head of International School
In the prevailing scenario, school education has become very important. Unless and until the quality of education at the school-level is improved, it is foolish to expect quality education in higher education.
