A student of KIIT International School, Saina Salonika emerged as Champion in the Odisha State Under-17 Girl’s Chess Championship.
The three day tournament held in Balasore from 18th to 20th May 2019 was organised by Balasore District Chess Association with over 10 players. Saina scored points on all six rounds to emerge victorious.
She has many national and international titles to her name and was awarded the Women Fide Master (WFM) title in September 2016.
Saina was also felicitated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in 2012 for becoming the youngest women to get the Women Candidate Master Title. Recently, she passed her 10th board exams with flying colours.
