Secondary School: VIII - IX - X

Secondary School (Grades 8 to 12)(Science, Humanities and Commerce)

The CBSE envisions a robust, vibrant, and holistic school education that will engender excellence in every sphere of human endeavor. Assessment Structure (Curriculum)

Scholastic Area

1. Five Main subjects i.e.Language 1, Language 2, Science, Mathematics, Social Science are prescribed for Grade VIII to X. However Grade VIII will have additional subjects like Lower Language, G.K and M.Ed.

2. Board/Annual Examination will be conducted for 80 marks in each main subject covering 100% syllabus of each subject.

3. Three periodic written tests will be conducted in the school for the entire academic year and the average of the best two will be taken.

  • Pre-Midterm
  • Mid-Term
  • Post-Midterm – 10 Marks is allotted for overall periodic test in each subject.

4. Notebook submission carries 5 marks. It is a part of internal assessment aimed at enhancing the seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments.

5. Subject Enrichment Activities carry 5 marks. These are subject-specific application aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development.

  • LANGUAGES – Speaking and listening skills
  • MATHEMATICS – Laboratory activities
  • SCIENCE – Practical activities
  • SOCIAL SCIENCES – Map and project work

Co-Scholastic Area

KiiTIS promotes co-curricular activities for the holistic development of the students. These activities are graded on a 5 -point grading scale (A to E).

Activities include:

Work Education, Art Education, Health and Physical Education.

Discipline

It significantly impacts career shaping and it helps to build character. The Class teacher is responsible for grading the students on a Five-Point Scale (A to E)

Foundation course & NTSE

  • Students eligible for this course should secure at least 80% in Maths and Science subjects
  • The allotted number for this course is 20-25 seats per class
  • Syllabus for foundation/ NTSE class will be provided from the beginning of the session

Senior Secondary Wing

The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the AISSCE during the period of March-April every year. Candidates who perform well are awarded AISSCE Secondary School Completion Certificate, a Statement of Marks and a Migration Certificate stating that the candidate can pursue higher education and has completed Secondary Schooling.

Regular tests/All India Test Series

Tests conducted by different coaching institutes like Aakash, FIITJEE, ALLEN, IIT/JEE, CAREER LAUNCHER and LEXCALIBUR to acquaint students with the question pattern helps develop confidence to appear real-life tests.

Current Affairs and Group Discussion

Students update themselves through periodic group discussions on current topics which are conducted class wise.

Counselling & Motivation

Students are given personal counselling if required by a psychologist. Group motivational sessions are also conducted.

Weekly Tests

Regular weekly tests are conducted to revise the topics taught.

Seminars & Symposiums

Symposiums and seminars are conducted every week to equip students to present, communicate and explore a particular field. These activities immensely help in boosting their confidence.
